Beginner Acrylic and Oil with Lorelle Bacon (1007LB)
October 7, 2017 9 am – 4 pm
Tuition: $110, All Materials Provided
In this one-day workshop for beginners students will work in either oils or acrylics (please designate when enrolling). Students will learn about color mixing, how to use complimentary colors and will receive color mixing guides to take home. You will follow-a-long with the instructor while completing a landscape painting to frame or give as a gift. You will have more confidence by the days end to jump in and paint on your own.
I have been primarily known as a portrait artist for over 25 years, though I enjoy painting anything that “grabs” me! I have done many commissions. I work in oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, pen and ink, scratchboard, mixed media and graphite. I have been teaching drawing and painting to hundreds of students through since 1994, many of whom are now doing commissions themselves.
I was the resident artist/instructor at Black Mountain Center for the Arts for 8 years. I am currently an instructor at Arrowhead Gallery in Old Fort, Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League in Black Mountain and Lead Instructor at River’s Edge Studio in the Asheville River Arts District. I also hold many workshops in these areas as well as in Hendersonville and Tennessee, Texas and Florida.
