Beginning Oil with Marsha Holmes (722MH)

This workshop is suitable for beginning painters who are unfamiliar with, or who would like to learn more about basic oil painting theory. The instructor has developed a simple approach that enables participants to easily understand and gain confidence and skills in important principals typically used when creating a painting. She will explain and demonstrate such techniques as composition, mixing colors and applying the paint. Students are free to progress at their own speed. All materials provided.
Marsha was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, educated at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, majoring in Fine Arts and specializing in painting and printmaking. She continued her educations at East Carolina and at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She has taught art as a volunteer in a preschool program and teaches art classes in Caldwell County and for senior citizens. Her subjects include the people, animals, objects and sights she sees everyday in the High Country and scenes that express country lifestyle.
