316JB-BII: Acrylic Pouring for Beginners with Janice Booth
All Materials Provided
Just like Beginner I, Beginner II is a place to relax, have a blast, and enjoy the process of fluid painting! Beginner II Acrylic Pouring introduces two fun techniques that go beyond pouring and tilting: a chain pull, where we use paint and a ball chain to create the look of flowers; and a pillow pour where we’ll layer our paints then use a straw and other implements to create interesting abstracts. Students will learn how to mix paint for pouring, how to use embellishments like glitter and mica, how to properly finish pieces, and use additives like silicone. Students will create two pieces one 8×8 & a 8×10. Beginner I is highly recommended but not required.”
(Please note that the paintings will need to remain at FTAS for several days in order to dry).
Janice Holly Booth has worked in multiple mediums but prefers acrylic pouring because of its delightful unpredictability and the ultimate wow factor of the process. She has helped dozens of self-proclaimed “non-artists” create beautiful, finished pieces their first time pouring. Janice is also a National Geographic author and solo adventure traveler. Her books “Only Pack What You Can Carry” (National Geographic) and “A Voice out of Nowhere,” were both made the best-seller list. For 30 years Janice served as CEO for three national non-profit organizations before “retiring” in 2009.
