326LD: The Art of Quilling with Lisa Drum

In this class, you will learn the art of quilling paper;  creating beautiful flowers, shapes, and decorative flourishes, for one-of-a-kind cards and frameable art. Paper quilling, also known as paper filigree, is based on the technique of rolling narrow strips of paper into coils which are then arranged to form a decorative pattern. Students will learn basic quilling techniques of rolling, shaping and gluing paper strips together to create up to  five 5” x 7” cards with envelopes or ready to frame pieces. Perfect for your Mother’s Day cards.

Quilling is an old art form, believed to have originated during the Renaissance to decorate religious objects. It has regained popularity in modern times with updated tools and pre-cut strips making it an easy and enjoyable craft. All materials will be provided. The quilling tool and mini-glue bottle will be yours to keep!
