If you admire watercolors and want to try it yourself, or if you have dabbled in it and want to learn basics, this 3-day watercolor workshop is the session for you.  Classes will meet from 9:30-12:30.  You will start a painting in class, but should plan to work on it at home following class. The 3-day workshop will provide the background to continue painting on your own or to confidently attend intermediate watercolor workshops.

During class, you will learn what basic watercolor supplies and equipment you need and how and why to use them. A series of hands-on activities will help you understand how much water and how much paint to load on your brush, how to get many colors from few, and how to compose a great painting.   JoAnn will do a demonstration painting and share the photo and reference drawing with you so that you can follow up with your own painting.

A supply list is available but you should start by bringing any paints and equipment that you have; JoAnn will help you compare what you have to what she  recommends. The Florence Thomas School sells quality art supplies, so you be able to buy and restock after the first class.
