GENERAL INFORMATION AND POLICIES

This workshop is for those who want to spend more time working with watercolor and to gain more confidence in using the medium.  During these classes you will learn how to compose an effective painting, how to use color for pizazz, and how to work with and without brushes for interesting effects.  If you bring a picture or an idea of a subject you would love to paint, JoAnn Pippin, a watercolorist with 25 years’ experience, will help you create a painting you will be proud of.

During the 3-hour class sessions, JoAnn will do a demonstrate a painting that will illustrate different watercolor techniques.  There will be hands-on exercises using both brush and non-brush methods to enhance a variety of subjects.  In class, you will start a painting based on your photo and demonstrated techniques that fit with the subject, but you should reserve time to work on it at home prior to the next class.

A supply list is available, but you should start by bringing any paints and equipment that you have; JoAnn will help you compare what you have to what she recommends. The Florence Thomas School sells quality art supplies, so you be able to buy and restock after the first class.
