- Ian Wilson
Ian began working in stained glass when he was 17, spending what he could of a carpenter’s wages on supplies and gaining instruction from the public library. Focusing on the copper foil technique pioneered by Louis Comfort Tiffany, he slowly began teaching himself the art of building windows and sun-catchers as gifts for friends and family.
Many years later, what began as a hobby turned into more when he started selling his pieces at The Quilt Square Girls in downtown West Jefferson. Since then Ian has continued to grow and develop as an artist. His work was recognized by the Regional Artist Project of Northwest NC with a grant in 2018 and has continued to grow and develop.
“Stained glass is painting with light, it is almost like creating something magical. It can change the entire atmosphere of a room”- Ian Wilson
