Teaching Opportunities

Calling all inspiring teachers! Are you passionate about sharing your skills and creativity? Join us as an instructor and lead engaging one-day or multi-day workshops! You will have the opportunity to work with kids, teens, and/or adults.

Workshops That Inspire!

We understand the joy and fulfillment that comes from sharing your knowledge with others. If you’re an experienced art educator or craftsman who loves teaching and connecting with a community of learners, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you specialize in traditional crafts or contemporary fine art, your skills and insights could inspire and nurture creativity in others.

Our workshops range from two hours to three days in length depending on medium and skill level.

Our workshops include a diverse range of media in fine art and heritage crafts to showcase the cultural richness of the Blue Ridge region.

Our workshops feature small class sizes, fostering a supportive and personalized learning environment. 

How to Get Involved

We plan our workshops well in advance–often more than a year ahead–to ensure all aspects run smoothly for both instructors and students. If you’re interested in joining us as an instructor please prepare the following:​
 

  1. Bio: Share information on your artistic journey, teaching experience, and what inspires your artwork.

  2. Work Samples: Include selected that showcase the art and/or craft you create.

  3. Exhibition Highlights: Detail recent exhibitions, acquisitions, or public showcases of your artwork.

  4. References: Provide at least two (2) references who can speak to your teaching style and experience.

  5. Workshop Proposal: Describe a workshop you would like to teach at Florence Thomas Art School. Please include what skills students would learn and who who benefit most from your workshop. â€‹
